Direct Dialing University Phone Numbers

The university uses 10-digit direct inward dialing (DID) phone numbers for all university telephones. These numbers allow individuals outside the university to call staff, faculty, and departments directly.​​

Internal Dialing 

  • When calling from one university phone to another, you can still use the 4-digit extension for convenience. 

Caller ID Information 

  • Cisco Phones: When you make an external call, your caller ID will display your 646-909-XXXX number. 

  • Mitel Phones: Calls made to external numbers will display the departmental 212-229-XXXX number associated with your phone. 

How to Call a University Phone 

  • Each university phone has a unique 10-digit DID number in the format 646-909-XXXX. 

  • To reach someone, simply dial their 10-digit number. For example, if the extension is 1234, the full phone number is 646-909-1234.
