Cannot print at all

Please check the following in this order

Are you on the newschool Wi-Fi?

Whether you are on a Mac or Windows laptop, the Wi-Fi has to be on newschool.

Printing will NOT work from:
newschool-guest
newschool-housing
newschool-alumni

eduroam
or
any other Wi-Fi or cellular connection

Do you have the latest Laptop Printing Software?

We update the Printing software to match both new printers and plotters, as well as new Operating Systems (iOS Sequoia, Tahoe, etc)

Please see Download Laptop Printing Software

Did you restart your laptop after installing the newest print software?

A full reboot will fix most issues with the old and new New School Print Package

Did you install the Pharos App on your phone to release your print?

If not, or if you don't want to, you can still use one of the Release Stations instead.

For instructions on how to install the Pharos App, please see Pharos Print App

Have you changed your password recently?

Your New School Gmail and other services may still be logged in and working on one or more of your devices, even though your password has expired and cannot be used for printing.

The only way to fix that is to use account.newschool.edu and change your password.

Can print in general, but not a specific file

Is your file a PDF saved from Adobe Acrobat?

Other file types may not work (Mac Preview, Adobe Illustrator, Chrome, Safari).

Sometimes files from an App will print, for example, an MS Word Docx, but a different MS Word Docx will not print. This depends on the content and structure of the specific file.

Save the file from your app as a PDF, then print the PDF from Adobe Acrobat.

Is your file under 5MB?

Larger files may or may not print. Use Adobe Acrobat to reduce the file size.

Adobe Acrobat \ File \ Save as Other \ Optimized PDF

If the above doesn't fix the issue with the file, please check with the Lab staff; they can assist you with troubleshooting the file.
