OneDrive for Office 365

OneDrive is online storage (cloud) that lets you securely store your files online and access them from almost anywhere. You can get and share important documents from the web, your computer, phone, or tablet.

Getting Started

Sign in to portal.office.com to access One Drive 

Download Office 365
Select the Apps icon to access OneDrive.

Uploading and Sharing Files and Videos on OneDrive

To Upload 

  1. Select Upload>Files or Upload > Folder on the top toolbar

  2. Choose the Files or the Folder you want to upload

  3. Select Open for Files or Upload for Folder.

  1. Select the File and select Share

  1. Select an option for who you want to give access to with the link or set options for the link to be copied. By default, anyone with the link can edit, however, you can choose additional shared setting options when sharing or copying the link to be sent.

  1. You can also set editing permissions on the previous screen. Under Send a link, next to the Name, group, or Email field, select the pencil icon to change the editing permissions for the people or groups you have entered.

 4. Shared settings allow edit access for an individual or group then select options for access. 

  • Anyone - gives access to those who receive the link, whether they receive it directly from you or someone else. This may include people outside of your organization.
  • People in The New School - will allow for all with the shared link in the organization to access the file, whether they receive it directly from you or forwarded from someone else.
  • People with existing access - can be used by people who already have access to the document or folder. It does not change any permissions. Use this if you just want to send a link to somebody who already has access. 
  • Specific people - gives access only to the people you specify, although others may already have access. If people forward the sharing invitation, only people who already have access to the item will be able to use the link.

To Upload Files and Video content from Google Drive 

  1. Choose the Google Drive files or folder you want to upload to Microsoft OneDrive.

  2. Download the content to be uploaded to OneDrive.  

  3. The downloaded file(s) and or folder(s) can now be uploaded to Microsoft OneDrive.
