A personal recovery email must be assigned to your New School account in the event you forget your password or NetID information.
By default, the recovery information associated with your New School account will be the official personal email address that the university has on your official record.
If you need to change the recovery email associated with your New School account you can do so through the New School account portal.
Note: Changing your recovery email address on the New School account portal will NOT change the official contact information associated with your official New School records. To change your official email on record you will need to contact the Registrar’s office if you are a student, or HR if you are an employee.
Changing your Recovery Email

Log in to account.newschool.edu with your New School NetID and current password.

Authenticate with the Duo multi-factor authentication connected to your account.

Click on the the My Profile tile.

Under Recovery Email Address, enter your personal email address. (Please note that @newschool.edu accounts will not be accepted).

Verify the personal email address is correct and click Submit.
