DUO Multi-factor Setup
Currently active students, faculty, and staff will need to set up Duo Multi-factor to access specific services including MyNewSchool and their New School Email. If you ever need to update your or change your Duo set up, you can do so by logging in at multifactor.newschool.edu. For more information on Duo multi-factor and troubleshooting, please visit our Duo Support Guides.
Accessing New School Services
It takes approximately 24 hours for all of our systems to update once you have successfully claimed your account. This means, if you can’t log into my.newschool.edu or other services right away, please allow for 24 hours prior to trying to log in again.
Getting Support
If you ever experience any issues with claiming your New School account or setting up Duo, please contact IT Central for support.
Guidance For International Students
Where you set up your Duo multi-factor for the first time is important to note, especially if you set up multi-factor in your home country and then travel to a New School campus located in another country. For instance, if you live in a country outside of the United States but will be attending The New School at our New York City campus, setting up multi-factor in your home country will mean you will need to take certain steps to access your account when you arrive in NYC.
It is highly recommended that international students set up multi-factor using the Duo Mobile app (following the instructions below). This will allow you to use multi-factor by sending push notifications or using the Duo app generated code when only wifi is available to you.
Before you travel, please refer to the multi-factor guide for international students to ensure you have the necessary set up.
