Perceptive

Perceptive Content is the University’s document management system (formerly ImageNow) used for scanning, archiving, and retrieving documents. In addition, work flows can be set up to route documents for approvals according to your business processes.

Getting Started 

Gain access to Perceptive by having your supervisor email itcentral@newschool.edu.

FACULTY: See detailed reference materials and guides specifically for faculty.

• If you work in a department that would like to begin using Perceptive Content, please submit an IT Project Request
• If you need access to a department's existing documents in Perceptive Content, please submit a Perceptive Access Request Form.
• If you are already using the desktop client and would like to use Perceptive Experience: simply sign into Perceptive Experience to access your documents.

Perceptive is only accessible from the New School’s wired, wireless or VPN networks.

• Perceptive can be accessed via an installed client (PC only), web client (PC\Mac) or Cloud Desktop (PC\Mac).
• The Perceptive web client requires Java 8 Release 131 to be installed on your Mac or PC

Web: Perceptive Experience, the web-based version of Perceptive Content, allows you to take advantage of most of the functionality of the desktop client via a web browser, so wherever you are, you can access your documents.

• Benefits of Experience include:
  • No Installations: Perceptive Experience does not require you to install or save files on your computer’s hard drive.
  • Works on both Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Modern user interface.

Desktop Client: The Perceptive Content desktop client provides the full functionality and features of Perceptive Content. Those who use the desktop client must install a new version of the client each time Perceptive Content is upgraded.
