Gmail is the tool you will use for official email communications at the university.


New School students and employees receive an official New School Google account.


All active New School Google accounts receive 25GB of Google Storage that is used among Gmail and Drive.

Your NetID is your key to technology services at The New School. With your NetID you will be able to authenticate your access to a variety of information technology resources at The New School like accessing your New School email account, printing in technology labs, New School wireless networks, etc.

The New School Information Security and Privacy Program (ISPP) has been established to promote a university-wide approach to implementing and managing information and information technology security and privacy in a manner that respects the privacy rights of individuals, ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources, and complies with applicable laws and regulations.


To keep information secure, The New School requires that all students and employees use multi-factor authentication when accessing certain university systems that may contain sensitive and/or Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This additional layer of security ensures that even if your password information is compromised, there is a second step of verification to help prevent unauthorized account access.


The New School operates a secure file transfer service, securesend.newschool.edu, to securely transfer sensitive information from one person to another, both inside and outside the university.


Hyperion connects university administrators to Banner data and gives them a complete set of tools to support administrative decisions by allowing ad hoc client/server querying, reporting, and analysis all in one application.


IT Central provides support for all New School administrative computers.


Single Sign-On (SSO) makes it possible for you to login once and access commonly used web-based applications, including MyNewSchool, Google Apps, Canvas, the Student Success Network, and others, without having to re-enter your NetID and password.


The Equipment Center (EQC) offers reservation and checkout of audio and video production equipment for field and studio use.


Zoom is a powerful, easy to use web conferencing tool that enables real-time communication and collaboration between distributed participants on web-enabled devices through audio and video, screen sharing, and chat. Meetings can be recorded for playback and archiving.


Canvas is the New School's learning management system.


Google Meet is an alternative video conferencing solution to Zoom. Meet has basic video conferencing features that you can use to set up quick meetings directly from Google. For more robust video conferencing features, we suggest using Zoom.


Academic Technology open labs are available across campus providing Mac and Windows computers.


Small scale event support is for events that are smaller in scale and do not require a technician.
Request needs to be made 7 business days in advance.


Digital easels are dynamic displays located the lobby of most New School buildings. These digital easels offer the opportunity to share vital information the entire New School community.


Large scale event support is for events in Tishman Auditorium that use 4 or more microphones, multiple presenters, multiple powerpoint presentations, multiple video rolls, and video wall technology.
