The New School offers a virtual private network (VPN) enabling faculty, staff, and other authorized individuals to access internal computer systems from off-campus.


Workday is a next-generation cloud based financial and human resource management software system that we have adapted to the needs of The New School as MyDay powered by Workday. It provides university staff with a way to oversee pertinent employee information, time and project tracking, procurement, and financial services.


Cloud Desktop is a Windows-based virtual desktop interface (VDI) that provides a way to use a variety of university-licensed software, formerly available in specific campus locations, on any up-to-date computer, tablet, or phone connected to the Internet.


The New School provides New School faculty, staff, and degree and credit-seeking students (enrolled in the current term) with subscriptions for the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications.


The Laptop Choice program provides all full-time faculty and staff with one computer (only).


The password change/reset feature allows you to update your New School password. You can reset your password if you no longer remember it. You must change your password every six months as required by The New School security policy.


The New School technology labs offer several different types of scanning formats including small flatbed, large format, slide, and film.


Some offices have networked printers that can be used via the Printer Manager.


Microsoft Office 365 is a suite of web-based applications and services, as well as a portal to download and install the Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel and Powerpoint on PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones.


To keep information secure, The New School requires that all students and employees use multi-factor authentication when accessing certain university systems that may contain sensitive and/or Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This additional layer of security ensures that even if your password information is compromised, there is a second step of verification to help prevent unauthorized account access.


Jabber Softphone is a service that allows you to use your New School phone number to make and receive calls on your laptop, desktop computer, smartphone, and/or tablet.


Non-person email accounts are entities rather than individuals, for example, administrative offices or academic organizations. Typically, these accounts are shared by multiple people within a department or other organizational unit.


Your NetID is your key to technology services at The New School. With your NetID you will be able to authenticate your access to a variety of information technology resources at The New School like accessing your New School email account, printing in technology labs, New School wireless networks, etc.


Zoom is a powerful, easy to use web conferencing tool that enables real-time communication and collaboration between distributed participants on web-enabled devices through audio and video, screen sharing, and chat. Meetings can be recorded for playback and archiving.


Academic Technology open labs are available across campus providing Mac and Windows computers.


The New School operates a secure file transfer service, securesend.newschool.edu, to securely transfer sensitive information from one person to another, both inside and outside the university.

Gmail is the tool you will use for official email communications at the university.


Qualtrics is research software that enables you to do surveys and online data collection and analysis, including social and organizational research, marketing, satisfaction, concept testing, and website feedback.


IT Central provides support for all New School administrative computers.


Student information system comprised of general student, registration, financial aid and student accounts
